I’ve been on this Keto thing since April 11th. I’ve plateaued at 14 pounds of weight lost for the past 1-2 weeks. Last night I had a dream I was eating bread from a really good bakery I know of. It was so good, I was eating it plain.

You really should update your profile pic to just a pile of sloppy joe meat.

Keto seems to work well for those who stick to it.

Bread is one of my favorite things to eat and I can't not eat rice due to my asianity. Challah, baguette, brioche, fried rice, rice noodle stir fries, pho... delicious carbs are everywhere.

I had the Keto flu for the first few days, but I was fine after.

No rashes though.

Well it is working for me as I have been sticking to it.

Though my weight has plateaued, yesterday, I went from buckling my belt from one notch to two notches tighter.

I tried Keto for about a month and really liked the results. I paired it with intermittent fasting and was down a solid 10 lbs. Cognition was through the roof and energy levels remained very consistent with next to no spikes or dips. I always felt sharp and alert.

That said, it was tough mentally. I work for a grocery distributor so there’s always new treats from vendors floating around the office. I also pass a Bimbo bakery to and from work that smells AMAZING.

I’ve fallen off the wagon, but my wacky energy levels and poor cognitive performance has gotten me wanting to give it another shot.

Ah, you’re in Mexico, eh?

And yeah... that was an aspect of my dream... the smell of fresh baked goods.

But I remind myself that I want to achieve my weight goal and avoid health problems like diabeetus more than I want the treats.

Man.. why does everything bad smell and taste so good? It’s like sin, but an edible version.

Nope! I’d like to visit, but I live in Kentucky. My wife and her side of the family is all from Mexico.

That’s the thing. Is a few minutes of something tasty worth feeling crummy afterwards or even worse, being stricken with some terrible ailment directly related with eating too many treats.

After doing the Keto and eating healthier in general, I really notice a difference when I eat garbage. I just feel like crap. I think that realization makes it easier because it transforms the way you look at junk food. I’ve begun to associate the negative qualities with it moreso than the positives. That said I still indulge, but at least I feel guilty about it now!
